As you may remember, last blog I left you on a thrilling cliffhanger. For those who don't or have just tuned in. I was about to tell you about the exciting charity event that Tug of War have planned for Friday 11th. Well....you are going to have to wait a wee bit longer. I'm a tease-I'm aware.
Right, I recently told you that our first plan of action was to have a literal tug of war today to promote our group (Yes, Tug of War) and raise money for War Child. Well it would seem it was a raging success. It turns out many people will pay to watch girls fall in mud and guys tense their muscles and pull (oh, hhm, saucy) :D Whatever their reasons we managed to raise £50 which is a great start, so thank you to everyone who helped organised (I provided the rope-essential), joined in and watched. (including teachers).
Tomorrow is the ever popular Cake Sale to take place outside the 6th form block at lunch time and again, I must stress ALL money goes towards War Child. So, along with my homework, driving lessons, checking Facebook (clearly), revision and watching Eastenders (another essential) I have baked flapjacks, cupcakes and cookies. So it is dire that everyone at Burntwood school buys something tomorrow otherwise I will end up morbidly obese.
I know you are all sitting on the edge of you seats waiting to know what the big finale is for Friday. But first I would just like to remind you all about the quiz on Thursday at lunch time in the drama hall. I have hired out the drama hall so if no one turns up I will look like an ultimate loser to Ms Dunn and if that doesn't persuade you to come, maybe the fact that the whole of your £1 will go directly to helping War Child and if that doesn't persuade then I can officially announce the student quiz team:
Fatemah, Sabrina, Hannah Y-Mc, Mariam and Maryuma
and part of the teachers team:
Mr Gibbs, Mr Bull and Mr Tedd. (to keep you interested and watering at the mouth I will savor the rest for another day)
I think you have waited long enough, on Friday, to raise money for War Child, members of my group (Yes, Tug of War) and I will be wearing.............(drum roll please)............ONESIES to school. Along with the ultimate humiliation comes the hardship of using the toilet! So, please donate generously. To sponsor me please comment below (still not sure how this whole blogger thing works), write on my Facebook wall, tweet me @lucyedyer or just talk to me at school (the old fashioned way). Hope you're not bored yet but again I must confirm that all money goes towards War Child. Remember: many teenage reputations will be broken on Friday 11th at 8:50am.
One day down; 4 to go. (yes that does mean at least 4 more blogs)! woop woop
I have just been informed that I have to get into school 25 mins early tomorrow. That means I have to go to bed earlier, wake up earlier, snooze for less, have a shorter shower, spend less time getting dressed, spend less time doing my hair (which takes a while-I am a victim of frizz), spend less time doing my make up (which takes a while-I am a victim of spots) and walk to school faster (which takes a while-I am a victim of short legs). The things I do for charity aye!? And all you have to do is enjoy a cake, watch a quiz and break down in hysterics when you see a bunch of year 12s in onesies and sponsor them to do it. Please, remember every penny counts.
I think that is all I have to say today, as well as another massive thank you to everyone involved in the Tug of War. For more information on anything please do not hesitate to comment below, follow me on Twitter @lucyedyer or follow us on Twitter @Tug_Of_War_.
For your enjoyment (and to try and spruce my blog up a bit) I have (tried to) upload pics from todays tug of war.
au revoir bloggers
xx
