Here goes: Blog number 1
Hello all, to those that are reading my very first blog,
To introduce myself: I am budding young journalist, studying my A levels at Burntwood school, learning to drive, cleaning my room and trying to combat the issues of child soldiers in areas such as Uganda with the help of my team Tug of War and the charity War Child all at the same time. So just your average, stressed out, spotty teen really.
Not only is this blog to kick start my journalism career it is also to advertise my team's new charity group. We are raising money and awareness for War Child charity http://www.warchild.org.uk/. Our team name is Tug of War and this is to resemble the ongoing struggle between child soldiers and civilization as well as the struggle between War Child and the government to achieve the Millennium Development Goal number 2 which is to achieve universal primary education.
I believe that we should all do our bit to help someone and these children are in dire need of help. So I am helping to arrange a variety of events through March to raise money and most importantly, awareness for War Child. This amazing charity does not receive the publicity it deserves so I am doing everything in my power to get it noticed. Including Twitter and Facebook pages plus articles in magazines. If by some astronomical chance, a high powered, charity loving, superhero reads this ametuer blog....HI THERE. However, anyone reading this can help by simply following us on Twitter @Tug_Of_War_ and on Facebook-Tug of War.
Throughout next week and the rest of the month we have loads of great events planned in our community and I will blog daily to keep you updated. Hopefully as my blogs gets more exciting, more people will read them. To try and create a cliffhanger I am not going to tell you what the events are just yet and who we have involved, you will have to come back tomorrow to find that out and discover how you can play your part.....cheeky, I know. (or you could just read it on our Facebook page) (;
Thank you for taking your time to read this. For more information or help, please follow me on Twitter @lucyedyer and please spread the word!
Be back tomorrow
Remember I am just an average student doing the work of a superhero :S (while watching Glee)
xx
